School and Community
TEDA Global Academy is a government-owned/licensed, non-profit, nonsectarian, coeducational day school founded in 1995 to provide a pre-kindergarten to grade 12 educational program for students of all nationalities residing in the Tianjin Economic Development Area (TEDA). The School is governed by the TEDA Educational Bureau with input from the Steering Committee and Administrative Teams. The school community includes members of foreign and local businesses as well as local government.

Accreditation & Memberships
TGA is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) and the Council of International Schools (CIS). It is a member of the East Asia Regional Council of Overseas Schools (EARCOS) and the Association of China and Mongolian International Schools (ACAMIS).
Enrollment
Of the 238 students enrolled as of January 2020, 136 are at the Primary (including pre-kindergarten) level and 102 at the Secondary (middle and high school) level. There are 26 student nationalities represented at TIS: approximately 42% of our students are Chinese national, 13% Korean, and the remainder represent North America, Europe and other countries.
Faculty
For the instructional faculty: 50% North American, 25% Chinese, 9% European and 16% representing other nationalities.
Facility
TGA offers an internet ready, wireless access facility where classrooms are equipped with computers, projectors and interactive whiteboards. Also, the school has a library, four computer labs, a theatre & music area with individual practice rooms, science laboratories, a gymnasium, practice field and indoor & outdoor playground areas.
Curriculum
Instruction is based on AERO curricular standards (American Education Reaches Out) and NGSS (Next Generation Science Standards). English is the language of instruction at all academic levels. Beginning in grade 9, Advanced Placement (AP) classes are available to students as are other non-AP electives in a variety of areas. TGA graduates successfully enter colleges and universities of their choice in the United States, Canada, Australia, Singapore, Hong Kong or their home countries.
