Current methods have seen incentives from presenting money, to giving gifts and packages.For example, an individual organization may offer a reward such as cash for any sales representative who exceeds their target sales.
Giving incentives, have shown high results of increasing employee performance, and brings them to work hard and strike their goals. Additionally, it creates a healthy competition among staff members.
Promotions arising from within
For any employee, their ultimate dream is professional growth and advancement within their organization. However, it has been disheartening for far too long managers recruit “outsiders” to leadership or senior level positions. Embracing new methods within the workplace can show a paradigm shift and instead boost employee performance.
Management has embarked on empowering talents from within to ensure they take up senior leadership positions in their respective fields. This practice has been very efficient in advancing other employee performance by seeing another climb the corporate ladder.
It instills confidence and cultivates a culture of hard work among the employees as they now have something to achieve.
Team building (having fun)
The saying goes that all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy. It becomes monotonous to be confined in the office space years on end without recreation activities initiated from the workplace. However, recent practices commonly referred to as team building pick up the pace and have in return been a source of rejuvenation and morale boosting exercises.
Team building sessions are recent instances where employees of a given organization or a particular department gather outside of the workplace for some extra-curricular activities. These activities can be sports, singing & dancing, hikes & camping, road trips or general expeditions. Team building acts as a stress reliever and bonding sessions among the employees.
Importantly, management is poised to receive very useful information from their juniors who would otherwise be hesitant to relay this information while in an official setup. Fun is a major aspect in boosting employee performance, and thus this goes a long way in improving the overall organization’s output.
