Location and Transport
Capital Normal University is located in the capital city of Beijing, which is in the North of China. It has three other campuses besides the main campus, namely; the North One Campus, the North Two Campus, and the East campus. Transport to the school can be by express railway from the airport, by shuttle bus, or by taxi. The subway is also another means of transport to the university and it is more efficient and relatively cheap.
About Capital Normal University
The school was founded in 1954 and was named among China’s One Hundred Key Universities. Previously, the school was called Beijing Teacher’s College and was later given its present name, Capital Normal University. It currently has Gong Huili as the president.
The University has been recognised among the top universities in China for its continued top-class performance of students. It has produced excellent qualified professionals from different courses offered in the university. Currently, it boasts 17 colleges and departments, 110 master’s degree programs, 48 undergraduate specialists, 41 doctoral programs, three doctoral programs of the first-class discipline, and eight post-doctorate programs. Capital Normal University has engaged in international exchange and has established cooperative relations with over 140 overseas colleges and educational institutes in over 20 countries. It has also established 5 Confucius Institutes with the Piura University in Peru, the Minnesota University in the USA, St. Petersburg State University in Russia, the New York State University at Buffalo in the USA, and others.

The school has about 31,086 students of which 10,763 are undergraduates, 6,411 are graduate students, 11,993 are adult students, and 1,352 are international students. It has a faculty of 2,606 of which 1,509 are full-time teachers, 299 are professors, while 540 are associate professors, 818 have doctoral degrees and those with master’s degrees are 510. The faculty-student ratio currently stands at 1:9.
Recent News About Capital Normal University
1. On June 15th, Capital Normal University’s Institute of Cultural Studies held a review of the project regulations on the protection of intangible cultural heritage in Beijing where the university’s president addressed and met with experts.
2. The University held the Entrepreneurship Publicity Week on the 23rd of May to the 5th June to further demonstrate the entrepreneur service system.
3. Capital Normal University recently conducted the Internet and Education Beijing forum on Hybrid Teaching Models of primary school mathematics. This forum was mainly to support the teaching model which relies on the Limi Specialized Learning Platform.
